Who among us still remembers what it meant to be born in 1921? Being born in that year often meant facing forced labor in the Greater German Reich… we have so few living witnesses of that time left.
That’s why we were so honored to transport Mrs. Maruška, who is celebrating 
her 103rd birthday this year.
A And what was her wish, her dream to be fulfilled? What does a lady of such a blessed age desire?
A simple thing—to say goodbye to her birthplace
It may seem trivial or insignificant, perhaps even unremarkable… but each of us has a village, a house, or a region that holds a special place in our hearts. And so, we transported the frail and delicate Mrs. Marie to see her childhood home and visit her old neighbors.
Though the visit was beautiful, it was also quite exhausting. Mrs. Marie was very happy to return to the wonderful and cozy Pohoda Senior Home in Netolice, where she shared stories of her journey back to her native village with the amazing nurses.
