Love can move mountains, and life’s harshest trials only test our strength—both personal and, above all, the strength of a couple.
Mr. Karel’s wife has had more than her share of burdens. Yet despite everything life has thrown at him, he has always been a pillar of support for her and their three sons. Their shared love of music and singing has been a constant throughout their lives.
Pan ears ago, Mr. Karel lost his sight due to illness. Now, he is battling terminal cancer, cared for by his wife Květuše and the incredible team at the Domácí hospic Jordán .
Mrs. Květuše herself is no longer in good health. Their passion for music and their kind hearts have earned them a unique reward—after years of volunteering to bring joy and song to TEP, a center for social services, the center has opened its doors to offer them a place to live out their days together.
And their wish? A deeply emotional one, shared by both husband and wife. One of their sons has been a client at PL Dobřany for years. At the age of 21, following a breakup with his girlfriend, he developed a psychiatric illness. For over 30 years, his parents regularly visited him, but now, travel by train is no longer possible.
Their touching wish, which brought tears to our eyes, was simple: “This is for our son—we must visit him so he knows we still love him.”
Mrs. Květuše admitted they didn’t sleep the night before the journey in our Ambulance, filled with anticipation and excitement.
Reuniting families and witnessing every moment of happiness from our clients and their loved ones—it’s a profound blessing and a source of strength for us as well.
